FAKE IDs

FAKE IDs

Fake IDs…What Do I NEED to Know?

First, we need to make sure we put out there that we don’t support or even suggest the concept of using a fake ID. If you can’t use your own ID, whatever you are doing, is obviously illegal or wrong. With that said, we are going to skip the “perspectives of using fake IDs and talk about what to look for when getting ready to use a fake ID and the consequences involved.

Let’s face it, the game of quality fake IDs vs security checks etc is an ongoing battle. The vast improvements in fake or forged IDs is incredible…most novices and some experts have a hard time with some of the REALLY high quality IDs. Read that last sentence again.

If your ID is not of the high caliber quality, you’ll get in trouble sooner than later. An example about how touchy this is can be found in this article concerning the 19 year old son of the AZ Governor getting caught with a fake ID https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/arizona-governor-doug-ducey-son-arrested-fake-id-scottsdale-11084779 . It’s not taken lightly. So what is a high quality ID? If you are spending less than a $1000 on it, it’s definitely NOT a high quality ID. Let’s start there. The Details and technology to make a solid forgery doesn’t stop with the plastic and the scan bar…those are the beginnings. The cost of the details are not cheap and are built so they cannot be mass produced without very highly specialized equipment not meant for public use. Thus, not cheap. Sure you might be able to get away with the 7-11 clerk who is trained to look for the 3 requirements (Matching image to user, expiration date, and proper state format) , but if you are going to use it for gate entry at a night club or a volume level bar (busy), you might end up with a problem. Why?

Nightclubs and busy bars that do volume and therefore are reviewed of looked at the liquor enforcement agents usually have GMs or owners that have to be on guard regarding their liquor license (which are very regulated and VERY expensive in most cases). They will usually have special training on IDs or equipment to scan IDs and are VERY good. If you were trained on the plastics, the layers, the watermarks, the way the image folds, the way the plastic is supposed to or not supposed to reflect white light, etc, etc, etc…you would easily spot a fake even if it looks real from the general public’s view. These guys and gals are professional when it comes to spotting fake ids. It’s not unusual to see them pull a fake at a glance. Literally at a glance.

Collected Fake IDs in one night.

So what are the repercussions? The best result if caught is simply having the card taken and shredded. They will not hand it back to you unless there is a doubt on their part and even then, might request a review from a local police officer. Believe it or not, this is a courtesy. You will always have the option, and it will also be presented to you as well, to have the local police department send an officer to review the ID. If you opt for this, be sure you are having your REAL ID reviewed and not the fake. Usually police officers will scan with an ID tool that it 1000 times better than the human eye and No, the magnetic reader strip will not help. If the officer reviewing finds it fake, you will be arrested.

Usually the result is having your ID collected. Sometimes, this means the IDs are given to the local police. In this event, flip a coin on if they come after you or not. Being a fake ID, it’s not likely unless you get a fake ID of you with only or DOB changed. Smart/s.

In Short, if you are going where there is an ID checker and volume of people, let us suggest not doing it. Bad idea and big risk.

The laws vary from state to state and school to school, so if you insist on using a fake ID, educate yourself on your state’s laws and your school’s policy on the matter so if you do get caught, you know what comes next.  A class 4 felony has a tendency to kill grants and scholarships as well as job opportunities when you do graduate.
